Nagomi Onsen Hot Spring (Kuki, Saitama Pref.) Review 【Japan Onsen day trip vol.2】

Eastern Saitama
Eastern SaitamaKanto RegionSaitama Prefecture

Although it is not well known, Saitama Prefecture is actually a hot spring paradise.
There are hot springs with different spring qualities depending on the region, and most of them are maintained as day-trip hot spring facilities, so you can feel free to experience hot springs at a reasonable price.

This time, I will report on Nagomi Onsen hot spring in Kuki City, Saitama Prefecture.
Although it is located in the middle of a residential area, you can enjoy a full-fledged hot spring here.

The entrance is a hot spring inn style

Nagomi Onsen has fresh and mineral-rich hot water that gushes out from deep underground. You can enjoy it directly from the source.
In the same city of Kuki, there is also Hyaku-Kannon Onsen, which is famous as ‘the most famous hot spring in Saitama Prefecture’, but the quality of the Nagomi Onsen is not lost.

At first glance, it is an atmosphere like ‘a common day trip hot spring facility in the suburbs of Tokyo’, but in fact, this place has a unique vibe, which you can’t see in the megalopolis of Tokyo!

Outstanding spring quality and mysterious concept…What is Nagomi Onsen?

Is something wrong here? Nagomi Onsen is such a place!

The facility is slightly smaller than the average one

The building of Nagomi Onsen has a pure Japanese style reminiscent of a hot spring inn.
The interior, which is unified in black and white monotone, also creates a ‘Japanese’ atmosphere.

On the other hand, the site is not so large, and (in Saitama Prefecture, where there are many spacious facilities) it made me feel somewhat narrow.
As the bathhouses and a restaurant are tightly packed in a narrow space, it seems a little cramped.

Looking at it like this, it seems like a common day-trip hot spring facility in the suburbs of Tokyo, but you should notice something strange as soon as you actually visit it.
because there are items that are not similar to the hot spring facilities.…

Hot Spring Shiitake Grown with Hot Spring Water
Sea urchins kept in hot spring water

Actually, Nagomi Onsen is not enough satisfied just to pull abundant natural hot spring into the bathtub, they grow shiitake mushrooms and sea urchins using the hot spring water. (I do not understand the meaning of it a bit).

In addition, Nagomi Onsen’s homemade shiitake mushrooms and sea urchins can be eaten at the restaurant on the second floor, a concept that goes diagonally up.
Moreover, the price is quite affordable for high-grade ingredients such sea urchin, and you will maybe feel ‘Please try our urchin!’ mindset.

You can also eat homemade hot-spring sea urchin dishes

The hot spring shiitake mushroom & hot spring sea urchin of Nagomi Onsen is still continuing, they made up their own character of shiitake and sea urchin (unit name ‘Nagomix’).
From my point of view, I don’t know exactly where this facility is aiming, but perhaps they don’t understood either.

There are also characters with motifs of hot spring shiitake mushrooms and hot spring sea urchin

There are many other feelings which would blow out your mind in Nagomi Onsen. There are many unique bathtubs like no other, gym facilities on the second floor for some reason, and many local menus at quirky restaurants. The more you dig, the more interesting things you will find here.

There may not be a better place than Nagomi Onsen as a total sightseeing finish in Kuki City, the town that goes diagonally up in Saitama Prefecture .

Opening hours of Nagomi Onsen│Price

The basic information of Nagomi Onsen is as follows.
Recently, many day trip hot spring facilities charge more than 1000 yens, Nagomi Onsen still keeps the reasonable price.

The system of Nagomi Onsen is very easy to understand, and the wristband handed at the time of reception completes all the settlement in the facility: you will return it to the reception desk when you leave the facility and you will pay everything in the end. It means you can eat in the restaurant and use the vending machines etc, just touching your wristband. No coins are needed to lock shoeboxs and lockers, So you can use all of the services in the facility without any cash.

In addition, rental of towels is not included in the entrance fee, so it is convenient to rent them with some additional fee (a face towel for ¥100 and a bath towel for ¥150) if you don’t bring them.

The bathhouse is equipped with shampoo, conditioner and body soap and can be used for free, but the men’s changing room isn’t equipped with face lotion etc.(There may be in the women’s changing room?)

Recently, many day-trip hot spring facilities offder the experience of bedrock bath for an additional fee, but there is no bedrock bath for Nagomi Onsen. Therefore, you will need only admission fee + meal and drink fee, it is easy to understand with a very simple fee setting.

Hot Spring Quality of Nagomi Onsen│Hot Water Supply System

Nagomi Onsen is a natural hot spring that gushes out from 1,500 m underground. It is a weak alkaline hot water of the sodium chloride spring, and the iron-like smell drifts slightly from the golden hot water, and you can feel a little saltiness.

The source is hot at about 45°C, and the point is that there is no need for heating. The hot water that gushes out in every bathtub is poured over, and you can enjoy the fresh hot spring.

The hot spring drawn in the bathtub is basically disinfected with chlorine, but the chlorine smell is hardly felt.
The indoor bath is not disinfected with chlorine. So iit’s perfect for the people who want to feel the blessings of nature with their whole body that no human hands have been added at all.(Since the hot spring ingredients are quite thick and have not been disinfected, people with weak skin should be careful)

Nagomi Onsen is a wonderful hot spring that is perfect even if you look only at the spring quality and hot water supply system, but you are in Kuki City -where everything goes in the opposite
direction of the usual. Perhaps they were not enough happy just pouring the hot spring in an ordinary bathhouse, there are many unique concept bathtubs in Nagomi Onsen.

The unique bathtubs are attractive (https://nagomiyu.jp/)

A variety of bathtubs, such as Shiogama sauna, Fragrant bath, carbonated spring in the cave, etc., that can not be encountered at other day trip hot spring facilities, are the big pros of Nagomi Onsen.
Children will be absolutely fun, and even adults will be able to go around the unique bathtubs in an exciting exploration mood!

How crowded Nagomi Onsen is?│Customer Base│Recommended days of the week and time for visiting

It is quite vacant on weekdays

The problem with day-trip hot spring facilities in Saitama Prefecture is that they can be a little crowded.
Depending on the day of the week and the time of day, ‘I was tired because it was full of people, rather than relaxing…I often feel like, ‘Oh, my god, I can’t do that.’

As for the congestion of Nagomi Onsen, the most accurate expression is ‘depending on the day of the week and time of day.’
There are many families on Saturdays and Sundays, and it is quite crowded at any time, but it is relatively vacant at any time on weekdays.

I visited Nobuyohanagomi Onsen twice (Friday evening /Monday evening), but it was crowded on Friday anyway.
There were many office workers and customers with children at the end of work, and the facilities were too narrow, and to be honest it was quite cramped.

On the other hand, on Monday, which was my second visit, I was so surprised that I was worried.
There were no guests with children, and many were solo guests/ couples of men and women, so I could fully enjoy the quiet space.

The peak of congestion at the day-trip hot spring facilities is usually after 7pm, but it seems that people do not come at a late time at Nagomi Hot Spring.
As the time slowed down, the number of people dwindled further, and at 9pm a few guests were only left glancing at the bathhouse.

As for the customer base of Nagomi Onsen, it is characteristic that the age group is wide.

There are only about four percent to five percent of the elderly, and customers in their 30s to 50s are the main. There are not a few students in their 20s, but most of them are small groups of 2-3 people, so they are not particularly noisy.
On the other hand, on weekends from Friday evening to Sunday, there are many customers with children, so it inevitably becomes noisy.

Compared to Hyakkannon Onsen in Kuki City, which was no longer a nursing home for the elderly, the difference in customer base is obvious.
I think that there are many customers who ‘stop by after work’ style.

In addition, there are many stickers with somewhat strict manners and rules written in the bathhouse of Nagomi Onsen, but I think that is why the overall level of manners is different. The impression that there were many good customers.
It is prohibited to dive in a cold bath or wash your face, or conversation in an open-air bath is prohibited (personally, both are different yeah). There is a feeling that it is a little too noisy, but there are many people who are using properly following the fine rules around thatIt was a great experience.

Access of Nagomi Onsen

The nearest station is Tobu Line│JR Kuki Station

The nearest station to Nagomi Onsen is Kuki-kuki Station on the JR Utsunomiya Line/Tobu Skytree Line.
It is not a 20- to 30-minute walk from the station, but it is not near the station.

If you access by train, it is convenient to use the free shuttle bus operated by Nagomi Onsen.
It is 1 day 6 round trip between Kuki Station West exit and Nagomi Onsen.▼

Free Shuttle bus timetable

The number of free shuttle buses is not much as much as 2 hours in 1, but if the time is right ◎
If you have missed it, you can walk.I think it will not be a problem personally because I can also move.

The point of departure and arrival on the side of Kuki Station of the free shuttle bus is beside Coco Ichibanya on the south side of the west Exit Roundabout.
It is a bit difficult to understand because there are no signs, but the bus will come right on time.

I tried to sneak into Nagomi Onsen!

Now that you know what kind of place Nagomi Onsen is, it’s time!To the hot springs…!
It is a good idea to take a look at some of the things you should be aware of when taking a bath, how crowded it is, and how you feel about taking a bath…I will report frankly & in detail to the place where I felt that ‘I will do it!’

The contents and information of the report are only for the time of visit, and be sure to check the official website for the latest information such as the price and impact date.

In addition, the facilities, atmosphere, customer base, etc. of the bathroom may be different for men and women, so let’s think about it for reference only.

Reception Hall

Expectations are high for the appearance of pure Japanese style

The appearance of Nagomi Onsen is like a little hot spring inn.
With a calm design based on light red and black, you can feel an elegant atmosphere.

As soon as you enter the entrance, there are many shoe boxes lined up, and after you put your shoes in and close the key, you go to the reception desk.
The fee is deferred, so if you leave the key to the shoe box and get a wristband for the hotel settlement, you will be completed entering the museum.

The key to the shoebox is kept at the reception desk
There is a souvenir corner in front of the reception

There is a small souvenir corner beside the reception desk.
There are many snacks that are likely to be found everywhere, but there is a community-based warm atmosphere around the vegetables produced in local Kuki lined up.You can feel that it is a spring facility.

Hot spring sea urchins (fate to be eaten of them) also welcome you

In the souvenir corner, there are also some of the hot spring sea urchins that Nagomi Onsen is promoting profusely, so don’t miss it!

A lot of variety of hot water!Large public bath

There is a large public bath waiting for you at the front of the reception desk and after passing through the hall that serves as a resting space.

You can choose your favorite locker in the dressing room.
The key to the locker must be worn separately from the wristband received at the reception.

Full of unique bathtubs!Outdoor Bath Area

In the center of the open-air bath there is an octagonal bath with a hot spring (https://nagomiyu.jp/)

When you go outside from the indoor bath area, the outdoor open-air bath area appears.

In the center is an octagonal bath with a source drawn.
Around it, carbonated cave bath around 36℃, pot bath using source, fragrance bath like a half-private room with glass, etc. are lined up, sauna and water windLu is also installed outdoors.

It is wonderful that there are many different types of bathtubs and you can feel playful, but since the site is not so large in the first place, it is a great place to stay. The feeling of openness is quite cramped even though it is an open-air bath area of Uri.
I can not deny the ‘feeling of stuffing too much variously’.

There is also a bath like a semi-private room called a fragrance bath (https://nagomiyu.jp/)
Tsuboyu is too close to each other and the feeling of private is thin (https://nagomiyu.jp/)

▲You can taste the feeling of owning hot water Even with regard to Tsuboyu, the distance between each other is quite close, so I could hardly feel the feeling of private. It was a pity…
However, the quality of the hot water is quite good, and the chlorine smell for disinfection is almost not felt. The greenish golden translucent hot water has a smooth texture, and the texture that sucks into the skin is wonderful.

Some people may feel unsatisfactory because the unique aroma of hot springs is slightly weak and hardly salty, but there are many people who do not have a strong habit. The hot water for is a nice point.
As for the hot water temperature, every bathtub is suitable temperature of about 41°C, so you can relax without getting hot.

There is no other cave carbonated spring bath (https://nagomiyu.jp/)

In addition, the cave carbonated spring, which is not often seen in other hot spring facilities, is also a specialty of Nagomi Onsen.
The carbonated spring itself is found in many facilities, but it is expected that further healing effects are expected by lighting up the fantastic dome-shaped roof here.I can do it (really).

As for the carbonated spring itself, the bathtub may be too large, so the feeling of carbonated water is somewhat modest.
However, when you look at the fantastic dome ceiling while lying in the lukewarm water, you can relax your mind and body unknowingly. You will notice that you have a lot of work to do.

I enjoyed the open-air bath area of Nagomi Onsen quite a bit personally, but the area is small anyway.
The number of chairs to cool down and the space to cool down are limited, so it will feel cramped by all means. In a word, I want more margins in the space…!

A fulfilling bathtub!Indoor bath Area

There is also a bathtub with a source of fresh water in the indoor bath (https://nagomiyu.jp/)

In the indoor bath area, there are two slightly hot raw source flowing bathtubs, one whirlpool bath with a capacity of three people, and one shiogama sauna, and there are four bathtubs in total. There is.

The hot water drawn into the hot spring bath is the ‘raw’ hot spring that has not been disinfected with chlorine at all.
Certainly, it doesn’t feel like the ingredients are darker than other bathtubs…

And in the indoor bath area, it should be noted that the whirlpool.
Anyway, the momentum of the jet is supposed to be tremendous, and the stiffness of the shoulders, hips and legs is loosened up.

The momentum of the whirlpool is tremendous (https://nagomiyu.jp/)
Given the size of the facility, the number of showers feels quite small (https://nagomiyu.jp/)

I was worried about the lack of shower space. There are only about 15 showers in the men’s indoor bath area, so considering the number of people using it, it seems that it is not enough…
Actually, the shower corner is another place next to the open-air bath area (probably retrofitted), but I feel like there are still few.It will be.

The shower is a mechanism that hot water comes out for about 10 seconds when you press the lever and stops without permission.
Shampoo, conditioner and body soap are installed in each shower.

Great satisfaction even for sauna purposes!Sauna and cold bath

The hot sauna is quite spacious and has a good aroma and full of aroma.

It is a Nagomi hot spring with unique bathtubs, but sauna facilities are also substantial.

The main building is a high-temperature tower sauna that you can enter and exit from the open-air bath area.
The temperature is quite hot at about 92°C, and the spacious space where about 20 people can enter is also nice.

The high-temperature tower sauna has a mechanism in which automatic roolyu is performed with aromatic water every fixed time, and it has a good aroma and a good aroma the moment you enter inside.the humidity is too much.
The sauna mat seems to be changed regularly, and cleanliness is also without complaint.

This high-temperature tower sauna alone is quite high point, but there is another sauna in Nagomi Onsen.
That is the Shiogama sauna where you sweat gently at a low temperature of 60 degrees Celsius.▼

Rare ‘Shiogama Sauna’
Steam bathed in salt heated by charcoal fire

The Shiogama Sauna has two entrances so that you can enter and exit from both the indoor and outdoor bath areas, and its unique round form is characteristic..
The inside of the sauna is quite spacious, with a large amount of salt on top of the heated charcoal in the center.

As the name suggests, salt is slowly heated over a charcoal fire to fill the sauna with mineral-rich steam and inhale it.It is said that it promotes health effects.
The inside of the Shiogama sauna is quite high humidity, but the temperature is low, so I think that it is easy to use even for people who are not good at sauna that is too hot.

Personally, I was happy that there were two saunas, so people were dispersed well, and neither sauna was not so crowded.
The sauna of the day trip hot spring facility is often packed with sushi, but I did not care about the congestion of the sauna at all about Nagomi Hot Spring.(Rather, there are too few people).

The cold bath is the best!

The cold bath after the sauna is only one place in the open-air bath area, and it is a small one with a capacity of about three people.
The water temperature is cold to 16 °C and Kinkkin, and the refreshing feeling after the hot sauna is exceptional!

Other facilities (rest space / restaurant etc…)

If you enjoy the outstanding spring quality to your heart’s content, it is time to relax as you wish, such as a meal or a nap. From here, let’s look at the facilities other than the bathhouse of Nagomi Onsen!

not good for relaxing?Rest space

The hotel is located in the heart of the city, just a short walk from the city center.

The main rest area of Nagomi Onsen is a space with tables and chairs located just outside the bathhouse.
There is no sofa and it is more like a ‘meeting place’ than to say that it is relaxing.

The only smoking area in the facility is adjacent to this resting space, so for non-smokers, smells may be a bit worrisome. Also…
If you’re a smoker, it’s nice to be able to take a break soon after taking a bath.

It is a rest space that feels like ‘a place to rest for several tens of minutes’, but for people who want to rest more firmly, it is a place to lie down and lie down. There is also a rest place on the second floor where you can relax.

Why is it ‘Ichio’?..It is because the rest place is too narrow anyway.▼

the rest place…It is too narrow…?

There are only four beds in a space with tatami mats.
It is not able to cope with the high demand that ‘I want to lie down after the bath’ at all, and someone is sleeping whenever I go and the bed is not availableIt is a state.

In addition, there is no partition in each bed (seems to be), and the concept of privacy does not exist.
well, isn’t there anyone who cares about such things in saitama?..(prejudice)

Of course, there are no manga, and there are really only this rest area (there is another women-only rest area, but the structure and size are the same).
As you can see, the Nagomi Onsen itself is not suitable for relaxing for a very long time, and it is assigned to ‘just take a bath and eat’.It is an impression that there are many people who use it by cutting it.

The restaurant is reasonable and unique menu!

The restaurant is izakaya style

There is a gym at the end of the subtle quality rest place for some reason (since there are no users at all, it is better to crush this gym and make it a rest place).what is it?The restaurant is located in the back of the restaurant.

The restaurant has an atmosphere like an izakaya, and it is more suitable for families and small groups than for single customers.
However, even one person can use it without problems.

The staff of the restaurant are all friendly and respond well ◎
What is most surprising is that I do not think that the restaurant in the day trip hot spring facility. The menu is so full and the price is reasonable.

For these facilities, alcohol is quite a reasonable price

Although it is beer that you want to drink asexual after the bath, it is a fairly cheap price for such a hot spring facility.
In addition to beer, there are a wide range of Chu Hai types, but the price is not the same as the izakaya around there, or cheaper than the izakaya around thereSo, it is perfect to drink lightly.

Perhaps in light of this demand for drinking, the menu of the restaurant at Nagomi Onsen is quite rich in snacks.
Of course, the main dishes are also widely available (and not expensive), so it seems good to just eat.

This is the best app I’ve ever used.
Donburimono
Luxurious Gozen
Noodles
Many original menus
There are also many Izakaya-like menus
Example of hot spring Shiitake menu
Some seasonal menus are also available

Of course, unique dishes using hot spring shiitake mushrooms and hot spring sea urchin are attractive.
In addition to that, we use ‘Gravy udon’, a representative of Saitama gourmet, ‘Deep-fried loach’, a local dish from northeastern Saitama Prefecture, and homemade tofu from Nagomi Onsen. It is also nice that you can enjoy dishes rich in local colors & garbage colors (and the price setting is conscientious anyway).

I did not use the restaurant of Nagomi Onsen due to the condition of my stomach, but I would definitely like to enjoy unique cuisine when I revisit it!

Summary: Overall Evaluation & Recommended Sightseeing Plan

Overall Evaluation of Nagomi Onsen

That is why I have reported on Nagomi Onsen in various detail.

As a final summary, from the quality of the hot springs to the degree of enrichment of the facilities, we will add the score of Nagomi hot springs with complete subjectivity from all aspects!

Overall: 7.0/10

And well like this.If you look at the details, ‘I wish it was more like this…Although there is a feeling that ‘You can enjoy such a variety of baths and saunas at this price is high satisfaction.

It is a facility that can be quite recommended overall, but the biggest negative point is that it feels narrow after all.
If it is not crowded, you can spend it without worrying so much, but you may feel quite cramped at crowded times such as Weekends and weekday evenings.

The facility itself has been cleaned, but the floor at the entrance of the bathhouse is a little slimy and it is rough in fine places such as hair falling in the dressing room.It was also a minus that I was seen.
Some of the beds in the rest area were torn.

Local vegetables are lined up in the souvenir corner, and a sense of community adhesion is also ◎

…Well, even if there are some such minor disadvantages, Nagomi Onsen is a pretty good facility overall.
The hard surface such as the limited site area, the friendly goodness of the staff, the unique concept that goes diagonally, it seems that it is a hot spring facility. It is an impression that it covers well in the soft side such as a high-quality restaurant.

In a word, it is a ‘community-based at-home day-trip hot spring facility’.
I think that the warm atmosphere of the type that can not be easily met in urban areas is also a big attraction of Nagomi Onsen.

Nagomi Onsen is not bad access from Kuki Station, so it is perfect to sweat the last of Kuki sightseeing.
Please be healed from the core of the body by the hot water of the spring quality perfect, delicious meal, and unique atmosphere going diagonally…!

If you want to go sightseeing with a set of Nagomi Onsen…

One stop on the Tobu Line from Kuki Station, the nearest Nagomi Onsen.Washinomiya Shrine, which is accessible from Washinomiya Ishinomiya Station in Kuki City, is a venerable sacred place with a long history.

Recently, visitors are rapidly increasing as a place that became the stage of the popular anime ‘Raki ☆Suta’, but the shrine and the town are not riding the tourist boom. The point that it remains the real face is not ◎

People who visit Washinomiya Shrine are constantly watching, and you can often see shrine maidens perform prayer ceremonies. The feeling of ‘holy land’ is wonderful.

Kuki City doesn’t seem to have many outstanding sightseeing spots, but the biggest attraction of this town is the ‘diagonal feeling’.

Not to mention Nagomi Onsen, which is famous as a ‘day trip hot spring that goes diagonally upward’.In Kuki City, various things such as mysterious local gourmet and ‘Bora Bora Island of Saitama’ and the rumored swamp fly diagonally upward of common sense. It’s a great place to start.
